This poster was designed for an exhibition by photographer Naoya Toita.
The featured image depicts a ballet dancer alongside a flower, two central motifs of the exhibition.
It draws direct inspiration from Armin Hofmann’s iconic Giselle poster.
As an homage to this legendary piece, a typeface reminiscent of 1950s gothic styles was selected, and the typography was composed using a classic grid system.
This approach extends across the broader poster series, where typographic elements are arranged with a fluid structure, echoing contemporary systems while remaining rooted in tradition.
Balancing reverence and reinterpretation, the result is a modernized take on a timeless design language.
